TikTok Shop Philippines operates two distinct seller tiers—Marketplace and Mall—with meaningfully different commission structures. Choosing the wrong tier, or not accounting for the fee difference in your pricing, can significantly impact profitability.
The Two Tiers Explained
Marketplace is the standard tier available to all sellers. It has lower entry requirements but higher commission rates. Most cross-border sellers and individual merchants operate in this tier.
Mall is a premium tier reserved for verified brands and authorized distributors. It requires additional documentation and approval but benefits from lower commission rates and higher buyer trust signals (a "Mall" badge on listings).

Both tiers also charge a transaction fee of 2% and a per-order processing fee. These are the same regardless of tier.
Impact on Selling Price
For a non-electronics product with a ₱500 selling price, the commission difference between Marketplace (8%) and Mall (5%) is ₱15 per order. At 100 orders per month, that's ₱1,500 in additional fees—or the equivalent of needing to price ₱15–20 higher in Marketplace to achieve the same net margin.
For high-volume sellers, qualifying for Mall tier can meaningfully improve unit economics without requiring any changes to the product or logistics.
Electronics: The Exception
Electronics and mobile/gadget categories have the same 1.5% commission rate in both Marketplace and Mall. For electronics sellers, the tier decision is driven more by brand positioning and buyer trust than by fee optimization.
New Seller Considerations
TikTok Shop Philippines occasionally offers reduced commission rates for new sellers during an introductory period. If you're a new seller, check your seller center dashboard for any applicable promotions—these can temporarily reduce your effective commission rate below the standard figures.
